SO YOU WANT TO MAKE A YOUTUBE VIDEO?
Ever since I started my no good YouTube channel I’ve been shambling around the internet on the search for how to make the ideal YouTube video. But unfortunately I may not be famous and doesn’t have no followers to be a part of the creator circle but it is very surprising to my knowledge how little effort it takes to setup a channel and start making content in the platform.
I hope this guide will help you creating the ideal content for you to perfectly execute your ideal channel today.
CHAPTER 01: The Video
One thing I’ve noticed with fresh creators is locating the right tools for them to capture their game plays or other types of contents. I’m certain that there are other tools than these that you maybe comfortable using with, but these are some of the tools that I personally find pretty easy to navigate and record your videos hassle-free.
Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)
Open Broadcaster Software is a free and open-source cross-platform streaming and recording program built with Qt and maintained by the OBS Project. As of 2016, the software is now referred to as OBS Studio. There are versions of OBS Studio available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions.
It is pretty obvious that OBS would be the ideal choice from small-time to big time creators across known platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Mixer and etc. I recently started using OBS as I had some complications navigating the UI in the past, but once you overcome these complications OBS can be a very versatile tool you can make so much use of. Ever since I started using OBS I’m able to record 1080p 60FPS videos for my YouTube.
Bandicam
Bandicam is a lightweight screen recorder software for Windows that can capture anything on your PC screen as high-quality video. Also, it makes it possible to record a certain area on a PC screen, or capture a game that uses the DirectX/OpenGL/Vulkan graphics technologies.
Bandicam will help you carry out a screen capture with high compression ratio, while keeping the video quality closer to the original work, and provides performance far superior to other screen capture software that provide similar functions.
On the contrary I always fail to understand why folks despise this amazing yet underrated software of all time. Sure I certainly did fail to understand that you can record Full HD 60fps footage, but with the updated version Bandicam is light-weight and is a way better screen-recorder every similar softwares combined. If you can afford $39.95 this can be the most powerful gauntlet you can wield.
There’s a free version you can download that will grant you a limited amount of free-time. Then once that’s expired the watermark (www.BANDICAM.com) will be added on the recorded videos.
Bandicam also has a feature where you can record your Webcam aka the face-cam as separate allowing you to create more immersive let’s plays and other types of content.

CHAPTER 02: The Audio
Now that’s out of the way let’s talk Audio. Which is an important part when it comes to any type of content unless if you’re producing a silent film, which would still require music atleast.
Here are the tools that I’ve been using ever since I started making my YouTube content.
Adobe Audition
Audition is a comprehensive toolset that includes multitrack, waveform, and spectral display for creating, mixing, editing, and restoring audio content. This powerful audio workstation is designed to accelerate video production workflows and audio finishing — and deliver a polished mix with pristine sound.
That’s right, Audition by Adobe is amazing when it comes to recording with any low end equipment since it allows one to customise the sounds with it’s advanced alluring features. For just $20.99 you can afford audition.
Audacity
Audacity is a free and open-source digital audio editor and recording application software, available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and other Unix-like operating systems
Before Audition I was broke wasn’t having any income I had to find a solution that could get me what I need without any maximum effort and efficiently as possible. Audacity helped me a lot in terms of mixing my audio. With Audacity you can record your in-game or microphone audio real-time but not simultaneously just like in Audition.
Please note that both OBS and Bandicam allows the user to record audio, but I wouldn’t recommend this since it would pave way for some audio complications during the post-productions.
CHAPTER 03: Post Production
If you think the hard part is over, don’t worry that wasn’t even the beginning. Put aside everything you’ve thought about making YouTube videos because Post-production is where you define who you are and who you are aiming to be.
Whatever the jokes, moments you’ve had while capturing your footage your editing needs to be on point to reflect that moment you experience with your audience.
Learning these tools and posses whatever it has to over is the ideal choice for any creators.
Adobe Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro is the industry-leading video editing software for film, TV, and the web. Creative tools, integration with other apps and services, and the power of Adobe Sensei help you craft footage into polished films and videos. And with the Premiere Rush app, you can create and edit new projects from any device.
Personally, I love Premiere pro, I have so much respect for this tool for making the most complex part of the process (of course, Editing) so d*mn less painstaking.
Hell, I’d even go a mile to say, please take your time, watch some tutorials learn this tool if you want to make your life so much easy. Also the most amazing part I love about this tool is this;
Premiere Pro is available as a standalone for US$20.99 per month.
But do not freakout there’s another tool that’s easy and affordable for a noob like yourself.
Wondershare Filmora X
Filmora is a popular video editing tool intended for users who want to concentrate on editing and making high-quality videos. The software offers editing support for 4K videos. It’s an affordable product equipped with tools made for both video and audio. It gives users a plethora of options when it comes to styling, adding effects, and customizing videos. The tool makes it possible for users to throw in overlays, come up with animations and elements, add audio, and insert texts. It’s an ideal tool to have especially for those who want to make dedications, tributes, and stories in their videos. Voice overs can also be included in any video. Filmora Reviews can help users crop, increase/decrease video sizes, or have them all fit at a certain time. An option to “tilt-shift” can be made to blur out some parts of the video just so one can make an emphasis on a certain object. Audio and video can be adjusted by means of rotation or flipping. An option to remove video “noise” is also available.
Back in the day before my pre-premiere pro days I’ve had my share with Filmora which was an old version, but I’ve come to learn that ever since it has been equipped with some few good features that it also pretty accessible for people without editing skills.
Filmora is highly recommended for creators who just wants to simply edit without any hassle and get their job done in due time.
But still seriously if you want to move further, learn Premiere pro.
Bandicut
Bandicut is super-fast video cutting/joining software with an easy-to-use interface. It allows users to trim parts of video quickly while keeping the original video quality. Users can also extract audio from video to MP3, join multiple video files, remove one or more parts from the video, or split the video into multiple files.
If you’re looking for a software that is designed for creators aged under 5 and has 2 full-time minimum wage jobs Bandicut is the budget buddy for you. Seriously? whatelse you want me to say, c’mon you can stoop lower than this buddy.
However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg of course, the real threat starts here. I don’t know but if you’ve been living under a Dwayne-the rock Johnson lately just a headsup it’s 2020, almost 2021, which means anything you say can be turned against you. Before making a good content that can attract potential viewers you need to make sure to stay neutral. So here are some tips how you can create, sustain and nourish your own community (for starters)
Be Neutral
This is pretty much obvious on this day and age, so make sure to stay out of politics, try to reduce the amount of opinions you might want to express on all things, most of all, be careful of the drama you wish to pick.
Create your own Discord
I don’t know if you’ve heard but I personally never saw it coming. This software just took Skype out of the equation for sure. The best thing is that, you can directly interact with your own community without less-hassle.
The tools have been designed to make sure your privacy. So give it a go.
Additionally, I’ll be covering another post on how to create an ideal server, will be linking it here once it’s complete.
Try to keep the videos below 10-Minutes
Longer videos have more room for ads, and more ads mean an increase in revenue for creators. Breaking that 10-minute mark is particularly important: that’s the point at which YouTube begins letting creators insert ads into the middle of their videos, rather than just running an ad at the beginning.
But as of currently it’s been confirmed that YouTube will start showing ads on all small time creators’ content regardless of this golden rule.
You can read more about it here
Try to be active as much as possible
This is only applicable if you’re looking to be a full-time creator. But making your presence known by uploading 1-video per day can actually get you on a high-horse, so don’t be shy to abuse that algorithm for your needs.
Hashtags
Make sure to pick the right ones at times, it is important that the ones you choose should be trending or will be trending for a while, unfortunately there’s only a 500-word cap I’m afraid. Do your research and proceed with caution.
Social Media
You may not like it, because I know I don’t, I’m very embarrassed when it comes to my content. But tools like Facebook, Twitter and etc can be a powerful tool to reach a wide range of audiences.
So, I hope that almost covered everything I know, but do feel free to leave things below anything that can expand my knowledge regarding this. This has been great, I can’t wait to see who might get inspired by this, if you did make sure to send me your content for me to watch.
Good Luck! ;)
